The Forestry Service of the Forestry Department of the Province of Bolzano/Bozen has operational, managerial and administrative competences and duties.

Its operational and managerial duties and tasks refer to the mountains and forests owned by and belonging to the Province of Bolzano/Bozen (10 percent of South Tyrolean territory). As the forestry, hunting and fishing authority, the Forestry Service of the Province of Bolzano/Bozen is acting on over 90% of South Tyrol's territory.
